The heart and soul of the GPHCC, the SBDE is an umbrella program that addresses the needs of Latino business owners and corporations working to enhance the viability of emerging Hispanic markets. Hispanic business markets are complex in that as emerging markets, the segment has much to learn regarding business systems in the United States. The segment is simply a U.S. small business, yet the systems themselves provide for diversified opportunities according to the level of understanding.

Professional Mentoring Network
Promoting Career Development, Leadership, and Civic Engagement
The Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GPHCC) identified a need to address the slow growth of Hispanics in management and positions of leadership, and to address increased high school drop-out rates. Led by an advisory board formed by Latino professionals, the Professional Mentoring Network (PMN) was created in 2007 to connect professionals with executives and with Latino high school youth to receive and provide mentoring activities that help them grow in their careers while motivating high school students to stay in school. The program also provides executives with exposure to the workforce and leadership of the future.

Latin American Trade
The GPHCC recognizes the opportunities available to and from Latin America and has created a Latin American trade program to identify and source business development opportunities to and from Latin America for our membership. The program aims to maximize the potential between Pennsylvania and Latin America. The program includes trade missions, seminars and workshops with partners including Pennsylvania corporations, Pennsylvania DCED International Department, the U.S. Commercial Service and the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia.
